Butterflies and Seashells Silk Grande Scarf in Turquoise
Fresh and vibrant, the Butterflies and Seashells scarf in turquoise celebrates the extraordinary beauty of Caribbean marine life through soft blues, lavender tones, and graceful butterfly movement. At the heart of the design sits the Janthina janthina shell, surrounded by blue morpho butterflies arranged in a flowing spiral that echoes the shell's natural form and the infinite rhythms of nature.
Coral fans radiate outward behind the centerpiece, while lion's paw shells and butterflies frame the border with intricate detail. Hand-drawn in the PeppaRose Colorado studio and sustainably printed in Como, Italy, the generously-sized silk scarf is finished with delicate hand-feathered hems for a whisper-soft and elegant finish.

The Butterflies and Seashells collection explores the delicate relationship between movement, nature, and the hidden beauty of the Caribbean Sea. Inspired by the extraordinary Janthina janthina shell and the vivid blue morpho butterfly, the collection brings together marine life and flight in a dreamlike composition filled with softness, symmetry, and motion.
At the center of the artwork is the Janthina janthina — often called the violet sea snail — a remarkable shell that drifts across tropical oceans suspended from delicate floating air bubbles created by the snail itself. With its soft lavender tones and perfect spiral formation, the shell became the foundation for this collection’s visual language.
Surrounding the shell are countless hand-drawn blue morpho butterflies arranged in a spiraling formation that mirrors the natural geometry of the Janthina shell itself. Their movement was inspired by the infinite repeating patterns found throughout nature — from shells and waves to galaxies and coral growth. The result is a composition that feels fluid, organic, and endlessly in motion.
The blue morpho butterfly is celebrated for its extraordinary iridescent wings, which appear to shift between electric blue and violet tones as they catch the light. Found throughout tropical regions of the Americas, the butterfly has long symbolized transformation, beauty, freedom, and the fleeting magic of nature.
Behind the central shell, delicate coral fans radiate outward like underwater lacework, adding softness and depth to the composition. The border is framed with lion’s paw shells and flying butterflies, creating a decorative edge inspired by the treasures found along Caribbean shorelines.
Every element of our Butterflies and Seashells collection is copyright protected and was entirely hand-drawn and in the PeppaRose Colorado studio. The artwork was then sustainably printed and crafted in Como, Italy by highly skilled artisans.
This collection celebrates the poetry of nature — where spirals, movement, symmetry, and color come together in perfect harmony.
