Leopard
Seeing a leopard in the wild is a truly remarkable experience, offering a glimpse into the life of one of Africa's most iconic and mysterious predators. Renowned for their stealth and adaptability, leopards are skilled climbers and have been known to carry prey heavier than themselves up into trees to keep it safe from scavengers.
Unlike lions, which live in prides, leopards are solitary and primarily nocturnal, making them more challenging to spot on safari. This elusiveness adds to the thrill and excitement of encountering one in the wild.
Each leopard has a unique pattern of spots, known as rosettes. These patterns can be used to identify individual leopards, much like fingerprints in humans. This uniqueness makes every leopard sighting special, as no two leopards have the same rosette pattern.
In our designs, we took the liberty of adding a whimsical touch to the facial spots of our hand-drawn leopard, particularly around the eyes, to enhance its artistic appeal.

Our hand-drawn leopard was created in 19 hours and 9 minutes.

The African Monarch Butterfly
The African monarch butterfly, known scientifically as Danaus chrysippus orientis and affectionately called the Melkbosskoenlapper in South Africa, serves as a stunning and significant inspiration for our prints. With its vibrant hues of yellow and orange reminiscent of the breathtaking sunsets experienced on safari, this butterfly infuses our designs with a warm, natural beauty. By incorporating these graceful creatures into our prints, we create a vivid and artistic framework that captures the essence of the African landscape.

Our hand-drawn African monarch butterfly was created in 15 hours and 43 minutes.

STRELITZIA
Strelitzia commonly known as the bird of paradise or crane flower, is a stunning genus of perennial plants native to South Africa. With their vibrant flowers that resemble the exotic birds-of-paradise, these plants are often seen in local gardens and homes.
The strelitzia is a symbol of pride, and can be found on the reverse of South Africa’s 50-cent coin, highlighting its cultural significance.
Regal and majestic, Strelitzia can grow as tall as 33 feet (10 meters). The leaves are large and striking, resembling those of a banana plant but with a longer stem, forming a fan-like crown of evergreen foliage.

Our hand-drawn Strelitzia was created in 5 hours and 21 minutes.

The Picasso Bug
The Picasso bug (Sphaerocoris annulus), also known as the Zulu hud bug (pronounced "iCikwa" in Zulu), is a true masterpiece of nature.
Adorned with intricate and striking patterns, this bug's appearance is reminiscent of the abstract and geometric styles found in the works of Pablo Picasso. Its creamy-green base color is accented with eleven ring-shaped markings on its shell, creating a visually distinctive and easily recognizable design. This bold pattern serves as a warning to predators, much like Picasso's unique art style captures attention and evokes emotion.
In our designs, if you look closely at the area behind the leopards, you will discover two of these distinctive creatures walking along the palm leaves, adding a touch of natural artistry to our work.

Our hand-drawn Picasso Bug was created in 1 hour and 49 minutes.
